Tyler Henatay
Tyler is a visual artist whose work explores the tension between time, place, and memory. Raised on the West Coast, his early art captured the rugged beauty of coastal life—weathered buildings, classic motorcycles, and sunset-drenched horizons. After years of fast-paced living, Tyler embarked on a cross-country journey with his young family, eventually settling in Southwest Florida, where he reconnected with painting and found fresh inspiration in the region’s vivid wildlife and landscapes.
Tyler is of Pueblo descent, and his creative roots run deep. He comes from a long line of artists and makers, and this cultural heritage continues to shape his perspective. Storytelling and an interest in people are central to his practice. Threads that subtly emerge even in his more contemporary pieces.
Today, his work has shifted beyond coastal scenes to focus on people and machines from earlier eras. Drawing on vintage imagery and forgotten moments, he creates scenes that feel both distant and familiar—never idealizing the past, but honoring its raw humanity. Through his use of texture, light, and expression, Tyler invites viewers into these layered narratives, where the emotions of another time still echo in our own.
His work has been exhibited in galleries, art shows, and local markets over the past seven years, continuing to evolve as he explores new ways of telling timeless human stories.
